A Worthy Rival, according to Simon Sinek, means a person in or outside someone’s industry and because of his/her skills, or what he/she has achieved so far, highlights our weaknesses or simply has something deeper than money or fame that we don’t YET have. Then, as we admire him/her, we are not seeking to beat a Worthy Rival, but to serve us as an inspiration and therefore become better than ourselves.

This guy is a source of inspiration for us and as explained before, he is not someone I am against or someone I aim to “beat”, but quite the opposite, I admire him and I support his work and purpose to help others live the life we want. Because he has a very similar purpose with mine, I hope one day to collaborate with him.
He motivates us to be better than ourselves and challenges us to believe that achieving our own freedom is possible, just as he did.
